Pennsylvania’s firefighting traditions are unique in the United States. The Commonwealth is home to the nation’s first volunteer fire department and to the largest number of volunteer fire departments in the United States.

Pennsylvania’s volunteer firefighters are proud of their skills, their work, and their departments. As members of the fire fighting brotherhood, they are often intensely interested in what happening in the fire service in neighboring stations, in the next county, and across the Commonwealth. The Pennsylvania Fire Show is designed to inform and entertain this unique audience.
